Hello Bezos Scholars Community,
We hope this unique year has uncovered some unexpected seeds of hope and renewal along with the complex challenges you are navigating to support your networks, loved ones, and communities.
In this time of uncertainty and change, have you been looking for something you can easily do for others? On October 21, the Bezos Scholars Program application launched, and as alumni you are all the best program promotion ambassadors we have!
We need your help finding the next 12 incredible student and educator pairs that will be selected from across the U.S. to create a lasting, positive impact in their community.
As a refresher, this year-long leadership development program is open to public high school juniors along with a staff person from their school. The program kicks off with an all-expenses-paid experience for the student and educator at the Aspen Ideas Festival, June 25 - July 1, 2021, in Aspen, CO where Scholars learn from inspiring global leaders and build connections with peers from around the world. Trip plans will be determined closer to the departure date and if we are unable to safely travel, engaging virtual programming will be offered instead.
During the following school year, Scholars receive ongoing mentorship, leadership development, free college advising, and $1,000 in funding to launch a Community Change Project to make a difference in their hometowns.
Successful applicants have a strong drive and commitment to their education and demonstrate maturity, curiosity, grit, and leadership. Please share with your networks and encourage students to apply! Applications are due January 11, 2021.
