2015 Bezos Scholar Griffin Hamstead and his educator, Caleb Clark, created ServeKnox, a Festival that highlights student leadership and student-led initiatives in Knoxville.
Serve Knox kicked off with a talk from Drew Dudley, a TED speaker who spoke on how to discover the leader within yourself. After Mr. Dudley, eight students presented on their work in the community.
In sharing a highlight from the Festival, Griffin says, “One student spoke to me about how he wanted to start his own awareness group on sex trafficking in East Tennessee, and we talked about his plans to begin this organization. He was inspired after hearing all of the student testimonials about starting their own initiatives.”
