Abigail Maina

Estimated reading time:1 min

Abigail grew up in a loving family that taught her the importance of community and the values of kindness, humility and compassion. Inspired by her own experiences, Abigail is passionate about ensuring orphaned children in Kenya live healthy and fulfilled lives. One way she ensures this is by using her knowledge of regenerative farming, a sustainable agricultural practice, to produce fresh vegetables for orphanages to combat malnutrition. At school, Abigail serves as an academic representative on the student council and as a leader for the research student council. Outside of her studies and volunteering, Abigail enjoys watching period films and murder mysteries while crocheting, knitting, or beading. Abigail is eager to collaborate with fellow innovators in the Bezos Scholars program to bring sustainable, community‑led solutions back home.
