B.L. Alterman

Ben earned his undergraduate degree in Physics and Philosophy from Macalester College in 2012. Now, he's pursuing his PhD in Applied Physics at the University of Michigan. Though he may be a “computer wielding, space physics, graduate student” by day, by night he is a " fountain pen-loving, longhand letter writer" who enjoys rock climbing whenever time permits. Ben originally came to the Bezos program focused on supporting a diverse student body. He continues that journey today, utilizing STEM as a force for social good and working to make it a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive for all people.
