Raised in Nairobi where neighbors felt like family, Elvis cultivated his values of community and authenticity by engaging with the city’s rich history and culture. His values and upbringing drive his mission to address the wealth disparity by using education — the great equalizer—to lift students beyond their circumstances. Elvis co‑founded In Other Words, KE, a literacy initiative that stocks under‑resourced schools with books. They also host creative learning opportunities that contribute to student growth in reading and critical thinking, already sparking hundreds of new readers. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, listening to music, and exploring his love for aviation. As a Bezos Scholar, Elvis is ready to learn from diverse thinkers, refine his advocacy, and support learners back home.
