10 Questions with 2016 Educator Scholar Molly Diallo

Molly hails from Bay Harbor Islands, Florida (a town in Miami-Dade County), where she lives with her husband and daughter. She’s excited to be entering her 24th year of teaching! Molly currently serves as the department chair for social sciences at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School – where she teaches AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, and Honors U.S. History (and she also chairs her school’s Social Emotional Learning Committee!). If that didn’t make her busy enough – last April, she was proud to be elected to the Bay Harbor Islands Town Council… all while currently pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership (phew!). We couldn’t be more grateful for all of Molly’s thoughtful and continued involvement in the Bezos Family Foundation’s work over the years, and we even more excited to spotlight her this month and get to know her a bit better below…

1: One quality you appreciate most in a person: Kindness 
 
2. Last show you binged: The Office 
 
3. Most illogical fear: Cockroaches. I even hate the word. Like I don’t want it written in my spotlight!  
 
4. If you had a podcast, what would it be about: Acts of Kindness  
 
5. One thing you wish you invented: Narrative 4 – I LOVE Narrative 4. 
 
6. Favorite way to self-care / de-stress: Calm App 
 
7. You’re forced to pick… sweet or savory? Savory 
 
8: Favorite fictional character: Mary Poppins 
 
9. One word to describe you: Outgoing 
 
10. What are you most grateful for today? That my student scholar, Faris Qubain, generously donated a beautiful luncheon for the entire faculty and staff to enjoy this week at our school.
